Kia introduced the fourth generation of the Rio

In order to gain a larger share of highly popular and competitive category “B” (Yaris, Fiesta, Corsa), Kia introduced the fourth generation of the Rio, a fairly popular model in the European market and the domestic.


The new Rio is larger than its predecessor and offers more space for passengers. Concrete is 55 mm greater in length, 25 mm in width, but less than 15 mm in height. The wheelbase at 2.57 meters, at 7 cm longer than the model it replaces. Externally, the new design to headlamps, bumpers exudes more sporty mood, while showing more compact and muscular.

The interior of the model follows the design “philosophy” of the Kia to the clean lines create more width and space for driver and front passenger. The architecture of the interior is complemented by the triple dashboard, transfer of several buttons on the center console, and enrich the options for a potential buyer.

The equipment includes a system start stop, heated seats, air conditioning, Bluetooth, USB, stereo with CD and Mp3, lighting type LED. The steering wheel houses handling various functions, adjusted in height and distance, and has 2.8 speed.


The occupants have more space available, plenty of places for small items and a luggage space of around 290 liters.

In terms of engines, the prospective buyer has to choose between four engines: two petrol and two diesel engines. The smallest petrol engine has a capacity of 1.2 liters and delivers 85 horses in 6.000s.a.l. Gives a top speed of around 170km with acceleration (0-100) in 11.5 seconds.

The strongest immediately has a capacity 1.4 liters and produces 109 horses at 6.000s.a.l. With this motor the Kia gets from zero to 100km in 11.5 seconds and a top 185chlm.

The movement spread through five-speed manual gearbox for the version with 1.25 liters, while for larger the prospective buyer has to choose between four-speed automatic or six-speed manual gearbox.

The safety equipment includes, inter alia, ABS systems and “Assist” braking, six airbags, active head restraints and warning system for cars that follow in case of a sudden and heavy braking.
